Day 40

Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle and set apart for the gospel of God, concerning His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh and declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. Romans 1:1, 3-4 MEV

The whole Bible and our calling in Christ.

Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for the obedience of faith among all nations for His name, among whom you also are called by Jesus Christ: Romans 1:5-6 MEV

Only the Lords amazing grace enables us to do as we are called; to go.

To all who are in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 1:7 MEV

Our Father in Heaven, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and the comforting Holy Spirit, for those who can see, selah!

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be strengthened. Romans 1:11 MEV

Spiritual gifts strengthen; the ministry and our walk. The importance of this is commonly overlooked. Psalm 18:34 NKJV He teaches my hands to make war, So that my arms can bend a bow of bronze. Psalm 18:50 NLTYou give great victories to your king; you show unfailing love to your anointed, to David and all his descendants forever.

This is so that I may be encouraged together with you by each other’s faith, both yours and mine. Romans 1:12 MEV

Encouragement is mutual. This alone should stop you from placing your pastor in a pedestal.

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. For it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16 MEV

I am not ashamed.

Therefore God gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their own bodies among themselves. Romans 1:24 MEV

Hard to explain in full here, but this is also where false “google” knowledge leads even a once believer. “Psalm 28:5 NKJV Because they do not regard the works of the LORD, Nor the operation of His hands, He shall destroy them And not build them up.” Only regarding and heeding the lust in their hearts for completion/validation without God, or for one-upmaship, all which brings the demon of competition among brethren, instead of completion.

without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, calloused, and unmerciful, Romans 1:31 MEV

This is not an easy read. Are we calloused, are we without understanding, are we covenant brealers? No, absolutely not, we may fall, but we get up. None of us who trust in the Lord shall be condemned. We are the redeemed of the Lord. Psalm 37:23-24 NKJV The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. [24] Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand.

who know the righteous requirement of God, that those who commit such things are worthy of death. They not only do them, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them. Romans 1:32 MEV

Psalm 1:1-3 NKJVBlessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; [2] But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. [3] He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

Psalm 37:5-8 NKJVCommit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. [6] He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday. [7] Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass. [8] Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret-it only causes harm.

Do you despise the riches of His goodness, tolerance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance? Romans 2:4 MEV

The goodness should lead us to repent.  From the prophets of old, to John the Baptist, from Jesus Christ to His disciples all said the same thing.

But because of your hardness and impenitent heart, you are storing up treasures of wrath against yourself on the day of wrath when the righteous judgment of God will be revealed, Romans 2:5 MEV

If cause and effect are applied, then hardness of heart is the cause fot God’s wrath now.

For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, not having the law, are a law unto themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, while their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them, Romans 2:14-15 MEV

More to this than meets the eye.

Therefore by the works of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for through the law comes the knowledge of sin. Romans 3:20 MEV

Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the works of the law. Romans 3:28 MEV

These Scriptures highligh an important principle

being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ ¬Jesus, whom God has set forth to be a propitiation through faith, in His blood, for a demonstration of His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins previously committed, to prove His righteousness at this present time so that He might be just and be the justifier of him who has faith in Jesus. Romans 3:24-26 MEV

To prove His righteousness.
