Not Weary

Psalm 86:17 Show me a sign for good, That those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, Because You, LORD, have helped me and comforted me.

Show me a sign for good.

† Not because I had shipwrecked my faith.

† Not because I did not believe that Jesus will eventually come through.

† Not because I doubted His Goodness or His Faithfulness.

† But because I did not want to grow weary.

Galatians 6:9 And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

† I had faith, but I wanted my to be real.

† While not laying a fleece like Gideon, I did not want to lose hope.

† I did not want to stop doing good, to pray for others, to believe in healing & miracles.

† If we do not loose heart.

Psalm 27:13 13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the LORD In the land of the living.

Show me a sign for good.

Psalm 34:8–9 8 Oh, taste and see that the LORD is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him! 9 Oh, fear the LORD, you His saints! There is no want to those who fear Him.

Cabbage not a substitute for lettuce.

† Looks the same, feels similar but does not taste the same.

Religion not a substitute for relationship.

† Looks the same, feels similar but does not taste the same.

† Without a relationship, you will be deceived.

† Without having a real burger, you will believe that the substitute is real.

2 Thessalonians 2:9 9 The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders,

† with all power, signs, and lying wonders,

† God warns of that even in the Old Testament.

Deuteronomy 13:1-3 NKJV “If there arises among you a prophet or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder, [2] and the sign or the wonder comes to pass, of which he spoke to you, saying, ‘Let us go after other gods’-which you have not known-‘and let us serve them,’ [3] you shall not listen to the words of that prophet or that dreamer of dreams, for the LORD your God is testing you to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

† He set a pattern for us.

† God is testing you to know whether you love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.

A relationship with God is not personal in the Law of Moses.

You can love the Lord, but you cannot all be

† A priest

† A king

† A prophet

To be a priest, you had to be a descendant of Levi. Number 3:6-7

After Jacob the Melchizedekian priesthood split into three parts.

† The kings of Israel would come through his son Judah,

1. King David was a descendant of Judah.

2. The prophet Samuel was a Ephraimite, a descendant of Joseph 1 Sam 1:1

† This was to continue until the Messiah would come and reestablish the Melchizedekian priesthood.

3. That is the reason Jesus is not a priest modeled after Aaron.

† He was modeled after Melchizedek.

What is the difference?

Melchizedek is not a proper name, but a title

Adam can be seen as the first Melchizedekian priest.

† God Gave Adam Dominion = King

† God talked, fellowshipped and revealed things to Adam = Prophet

† Adam was also a priest, his sons brought an offering to the Lord.

Jesus, the second Adam

1 Corinthians 15:45-47 NKJV And so it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being.” The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. [46] However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. [47] The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Lord from heaven.

The Melchizedian priesthood restored in Jesus.

† He is the Lamb of God that takes away our sin

Hebrews 7:1–3 1 For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him, 2 to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, first being translated “king of righteousness,” and then also king of Salem, meaning “king of peace,” 3 without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.

† without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God, remains a priest continually.

† A Melchizedekian priest starts performing his duties as a priest whenever the last high priest, or God, ordains him.

† Unlike the Levitical priesthood, the Melchizedekian priesthood is only stopped by death. There is no mandatory retirement.

† Jesus lives forever.

† He reconciled us the God, our Father in Heaven.

† Gave us His Holy Spirit.

† Keep the faith

2 Kings 13:14-19 NKJV Elisha had become sick with the illness of which he would die. Then Joash the king of Israel came down to him, and wept over his face, and said, “O my father, my father, the chariots of Israel and their horsemen!” [15] And Elisha said to him, “Take a bow and some arrows.” So he took himself a bow and some arrows. [16] Then he said to the king of Israel, “Put your hand on the bow.” So he put his hand on it, and Elisha put his hands on the king’s hands. [17] And he said, “Open the east window”; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, “Shoot”; and he shot. And he said, “The arrow of the LORD’s deliverance and the arrow of deliverance from Syria; for you must strike the Syrians at Aphek till you have destroyed them.” [18] Then he said, “Take the arrows”; so he took them. And he said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground”; so he struck three times, and stopped. [19] And the man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times; then you would have struck Syria till you had destroyed it! But now you will strike Syria only three times.”

† Words vs Heart’s intent.

2 Kings 2:9-12 NKJV And so it was, when they had crossed over, that Elijah said to Elisha, “Ask! What may I do for you, before I am taken away from you?” Elisha said, “Please let a double portion of your spirit be upon me.” [10] So he said, “You have asked a hard thing. Nevertheless, if you see me when I am taken from you, it shall be so for you; but if not, it shall not be so.” [11] Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. [12] And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, “My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!” So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces.

† God is with you.

1 Peter 5:10 AMP After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace [who imparts His blessing and favor], who called you to His own eternal glory in Christ, will Himself complete, confirm, strengthen, and establish you [making you what you ought to be].

Philippians 3:13-14 NKJV Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, [14] I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

1 Timothy 6:12 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

God assures us today that He is watching over His word to perform or fulfill them in our lives.

† He will keep His promises to us.

† He is keeping track of what He promised, and He has not forgotten about us.

Isaiah 49:14-15, “But Zion said, The Lord has forsaken me, and my Lord has forgotten me. [And the Lord answered] Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she would not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, they may forget, yet I will not forget you,” (AMPC).
