Day 27

Now supper being concluded, the devil had put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him. John 13:2 MEV

The heart is evil and Jesus does not trust human heart because the devil has access to it. From your heart, your mouth speaks, but through speaking, confession/declaration of faith in Jesus Christ, your mind is renewed and through the Holy Spirit, we put to death the deeds of the flesh, dictate what is in our heart, and what our mouth speaks.

Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.” John 13:8 MEV

The blood of the Lamb and the Word of God.

Truly, truly I say to you, a servant is not greater than his master, nor is he who is sent greater than he who sent him. Truly, truly I say to you, he who receives whomever I send receives Me. And he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me.” John 13:16, 20 MEV

Some people don’t even come to church and dare to call themselves Christians. Fakery bakery I tell you. This is another way that Christ is either received or not received. It shows that the least common denominator (LCD) is that deception has led some to believe that they are greater that Jesus, who needed the guidance of His Father. Keep it simple!

After receiving the piece of bread, Satan entered him. Then Jesus said to him, “What you are going to do, do quickly.” John 13:27 MEV

First, the heart is influenced (v2), then the body is possessed. This is a great principle, even answers the question whether “Christians” can be demon possessed. Where is your heart? Where are your eyes?

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35 MEV

How can we love another without having a revelation of His love for us?

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. John 14:6 MEV

Jesus said this to explain verses 1 -4. There are four principles stated in those verses.

I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Counselor, that He may be with you forever: the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, for it does not see Him, neither does it know Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you, and will be in you. I will not leave you fatherless. I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see Me no more. But you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. John 14:16-19 MEV

As Jesus was a counselor to those in the days that He lived before His death and resurrection, the Holy Spirit is our Counselor now. The are more things to be gleaned from these verses, like the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are explained here.

Then Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, how is it that You will reveal Yourself to us, but not to the world?” Jesus answered him, “If a man loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make Our home with him. John 14:22-23 MEV

This is not a nullification of the Fear of the Lord at all, but generally addressing salvation, and not sanctification. I do not have time this Sunday morning to elaborate, but ask me if you’re curious.

Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 MEV

Peace = Blessing.

‘Every branch in Me that bears no fruit, He takes away. And every branch that bears fruit, He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. ‘ John 15:2 MEV

Every branch that bears no fruit!, He takes away, Every branch that bears fruit, Jesus prunes!!! Harsh words but true nonetheless.

‘If a man does not remain in Me, he is thrown out as a branch and withers. And they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. ‘ John 15:6 MEV

Just because someone categorizes themselves as a Christian, just because you identify as a Christian, just because someone knows about the Gospel of Jesus means absolutely nothing unless they remain in the Word of God. They are gathered and thrown into the fire, and they are burned. I would not want that to be me, my family, my parents, my siblings, my relatives, my friends etc. Therefore, constantly remain in Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit. Bear fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal. 5:22). Start with yourself. As they say, be the change!

‘If you keep My commandments, you will remain in My love, even as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. “As the Father loved Me, I also loved you. Remain in My love. ‘ John 15:9-10 MEV

This is in no way burdensome to you and me. How can it be?

‘If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own. But because you are not of the world, since I chose you out of the world, the world therefore hates you. ‘ John 15:19 MEV

Everything in the world takes you away from the Kingdom of God. We are not of this world.

‘“But when the Counselor comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will bear witness of Me. And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.’ John 15:26-27 MEV

As explained in my sermon, Jesus is talking about the Holy Spirit.
