Day 18

After this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them two by two ahead of Him into every city and place where He Himself was about to come. Luke 10:1 MEV

The Lord send them out for an effective door to be opened to receive Christ. Healing and other signs and wonders established the Kingdom of God, amd served as an effective door for Jesus Christ. In other words, the miracles acted as an attraction to draw hearts to Jesus, the open a door to preach the Gospel. So don’t get stuck just doing miracles, but populate heaven.

“He who listens to you listens to Me, he who rejects you rejects Me, and he who rejects Me rejects Him who sent Me.”Luke 10:16

Do not take the rejection of the Gospel personally. Do not be afraid to speak the truth in love.

He said to them, “I saw Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Luke 10:18 MEV

Jesus is taking about what He has seen, and not what He will see. I believe that Jesus is referring to Ezekiel 28:15 and not Revelation 12:9.

Nevertheless do not rejoice that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” “All things have been handed over to Me by My Father. And no one knows who the Son is but the Father, and who the Father is but the Son and he to whom the Son desires to reveal Him.” Luke 10:20, 22 MEV

This is the goal, that our names are written in the book of life.

For I tell you, many prophets and kings have desired to see what you see, and have not seen it, and to hear what you hear, and have not heard it.” Luke 10:24 MEV

And because the Holy Spirit, whose temple we are, still reveals and speaks about Jesus, we will hear if we so desire.

But he, desiring to justify himself, said to Jesus, “And who is my neighbor?” Luke 10:29 MEV

We tend to justify ourselves, for this is part and parcel of our fallen nature. As to the reasons, this is not the format to write long essays, if you ask me, then speak to you at length about this.

He said, “The one who showed mercy on him.” Then Jesus said to him, “Go and do likewise.” Luke 10:37 MEV

But one thing is needed. And Mary has chosen the good part, which shall not be taken from her.” Luke 10:42 MEV

The fine line between choosing the good part and the blatant shirking of responsibilities has to be drawn in our hearts. I am confident that the Holy Spirit will help us continually if we seek Him and His guidance.

For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Luke 11:10 MEV

The power of prayer –

But He said, “Indeed, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it.” Luke 11:28 MEV

Not just hear, but keep.

When the crowds pressed upon Him, He began to say, “This is an evil generation. It looks for a sign, but no sign will be given it except the sign of Jonah the prophet. Luke 11:29 MEV

Signs and wonders without the word being preached is considered evil when pursued by a generation that seek it instead of seeking God. Seeking “google knowledge”, soon to be replaced by AI awareness, instead of seeking the revelation of Jesus through the Spirit of God, falls into the same category but differently.

As He spoke, a Pharisee asked Him to dine with him. So He went in and sat down to eat. Luke 11:37 MEV

Ask and you shall receive. Communicate!

When the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that He had not first washed before dinner. Luke 11:38 MEV

Ah, the marvel multi-verse rears its head again! :p

But give alms from what is within. And then all things are clean to you. Luke 11:41 MEV

Honor God when you give. Don’t make a show of it by drawing attention to yourself.

“Woe to you, lawyers! For you have taken away the key of knowledge. You did not enter yourselves, and you hindered those who were entering.”Luke 11:52

This is an important principle.

Meanwhile, when thousands of the crowd were assembled, so as to trample on one another, He began to say to His disciples first, “Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. Luke 12:1 MEV

HYPOCRISY 101

Jesus said to him, “Man, who appointed Me a judge or an arbitrator between you?” Luke 12:14 MEV

This, taken into context with what Jesus said next, is the difference between the Spiritual and the natural. Jesus, when He came first, died in the natural, though it was Spiritual. When He comes, He will destroy the “natural”, for what we consider as Spiritual now will then become our reality, our all in all. Let him who had ears…

“But God said to him, ‘You fool! This night your soul will be required of you. Then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ Luke 12:20

A fool because to God belongs our spirit, soul and body, and therefore keep Him as part of all our equations. Seek His blessings instead of wordly wealth, for the blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it. “Do not be afraid, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. Sell your possessions and give alms. Provide yourselves purses that do not grow old, an unfailing treasure in the heavens, where no thief comes near and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.Luke 12:32-34

You hypocrites! You can discern the face of the sky and of the earth. But why do you not know how to discern this time? Luke 12:56 MEV

Wear a watch. Know the times and the seasons. Discern.
