Day 15

that you might know the certainty of the things which you have been told. Luke 1:4 MEV

What you know as truth, speak. Share revelations from the Word. It doesn’t matter who has done what, walk worthy of your calling in Christ.

They were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blamelessly. Luke 1:6 MEV

If it was possible to walk blameless before God in the old covenant, how much more should it be possible to those of us in the new covenant?

For he will be great in the sight of the Lord, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, even from his mother’s womb. Luke 1:15 MEV

Strong drink vs the Holy Spirit?

Spirit of alcohol/wrong doctrines vs the Holy Spirit of God. Certainly so. Pick one. One is picking your poison, as commonly asked when offering drinking, the other choice, the Holy Spirit, gives life in its fullness.

Zechariah said to the angel, “How shall I know this? For I am an old man and my wife well advanced in years.” Luke 1:18 MEV

This tells me that though Zechariah served as priest, he was  not aware of the spiritual. As the passage says, he looked at the natural and couldn’t believe how what God has said will come to pass!

The people waited for Zechariah, and wondered why he waited so long in the temple. Luke 1:21 MEV

Reminds me of the time when Moses, being with the Lord in Mount Sinai, was delayed.

When she saw him, she was troubled by his words, and considered in her mind what kind of greeting this might be. Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?” Luke 1:29, 34 MEV

In other words, Mary mind was totally blown, yet she did not hinder the plan of God with her unbelief, as evident by that which transpires. Blessed is she who believed, for there will be a completion to those things which were told her by the Lord.” Luke 1:45

When Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary, the baby leaped in her womb. And Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. Luke 1:41 MEV

An indication of when “life” actually begins.

For He who is mighty has done great things for me, and holy is His name. Luke 1:49 MEV

Amen

Immediately his mouth was opened and his tongue was loosed, and he spoke and praised God. Luke 1:64 MEV

This passage gives me hope that the Lord rest, the anger of the Lord does not last forever. Thank God!

to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” Luke 1:79 MEV

That includes you and me.

And the child grew and became strong in spirit, and he remained in the wilderness until the day of his appearance to Israel. Luke 1:80 MEV

The “s” is not capitalized imagine that!

In those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that the entire inhabited earth should be taxed. Luke 2:1 MEV

Again, the using of the world and its fallen nature and insecurities to achieve what God has planned.

to be taxed with Mary, his betrothed wife, who was with child. Luke 2:5 MEV

This was no easy task, given the technology and their conveniences, but even this must be done so that God’s plan, His righteousness, is fulfilled.

And in the same area there were shepherds living in the fields, keeping watch over their flock by night. Luke 2:8 MEV

The birth of the Good Shepherd was announced to the shepherds!

“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, and good will toward men.”Luke 2:14

What do I want? This is the Gospel in a nutshell.

So they came hurrying and found Mary and Joseph, and the Baby lying in a manger. Luke 2:16 MEV

The general manager in a manger :p

Now there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was righteous and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. Luke 2:25 MEV

A note to myself. Study about the meaning of the name Simeon, for it is not insignificant.

And the Child grew and became strong in spirit, filled with wisdom. And the grace of God was upon Him. Luke 2:40 MEV

Again, the s is not the Holy Spirit.

He said to them, “How is it that you searched for Me? Did you not know that I must be about My Father’s business?” Luke 2:49 MEV

Dont be a waste of space. 2 Cor 5:15.

John answered them all, “I indeed baptize you with water. But One mightier than I is coming, the strings of whose shoes I am not worthy to untie. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. Luke 3:16 MEV

Holy Spirit and with fire!

Now Jesus Himself began His ministry at about thirty years of age, being, as was supposed, the son of Joseph, who was the son of Heli, Luke 3:23 MEV

Is this Jesus’ genealogy instead of Mary’s? I’ve taught on this.
