Day 14

“Jesus answered them, “Take heed lest anyone deceive you.” Mark 13:5 MEV

It looks like deception is the one of the main signs of the end times. Careful we must be.

““Except the Lord shortened the days, no flesh would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, whom He chose, He shortened the days.” Mark 13:20 MEV

How long these days will be shortened, we are not told. However, we know the timeframe, so that we are not caught unaware, only thing we have to remember is to “keep looking up”.

“Then He will send His angels and gather His elect from the four winds, from the farthest part of the earth to the farthest part of heaven.” Mark 13:27 MEV

The gathering!

“Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things happen.”Mark 13:30 MEV

Wear a watch! Know your seasons. Understanding what Jesus meant by “generation” here, for it is used elsewhere, all with different meanings, is vital if one has to have clarity about what He meant.

““But concerning that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”Mark 13:32 MEV

Refers to verse Mark 13:20, about the shortening of the days. No one knows exactly how many days of distress there will be and when the appearance of Jesus ending those days, but when we see these things mentioned by Jesus, we ought to know that the time is near, even at the doors. Keep looking up!

““Watch therefore—for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, in the evening, or at midnight, or at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning—” Mark 13:35 MEV

“What I say to you I say to all: Watch!”” Mark 13:37 MEV

Again I say to you, wear a watch!!!

“You always have the poor with you, and whenever you wish, you may do good to them. But you will not always have Me.” Mark 14:7 MEV

The harvest is ready, but the workers, where are they? Who will go?

“So He sent two of His disciples and said to them, “Go into the city, and a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you there. Follow him. Wherever he enters, say to the owner of the house, ‘The Teacher says, Where is the guest room where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?’ He will show you a large upper room, furnished and ready. Make preparations for us there.””Mark 14:13-15 MEV

Though this is probably the first passage prophesied to me way back in 1997, I still find it mysterious. A couple of times Jesus mentions people who are neither the disciples nor anyone that we read about in the Gospels.

“Then He came and found them sleeping and said to Peter, “Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not keep watch one hour?” Mark 14:37 MEV

Please wear a watch!

“Every day I was with you in the temple teaching, and you did not seize Me. But the Scriptures must be fulfilled.”” Mark 14:49 MEV

Scripture is the righteousness that Jesus mentions at the time that He was about to be baptised. Jesus is the fulfilment of the scriptures, indeed the Word of God Himself; our righteousness.

“so he left the linen cloth, and fled from them unclothed.” Mark 14:52 MEV

Don’t put your leg in two boats!

“But Jesus still answered nothing, so that Pilate was astonished.” Mark 15:5 MEV

Silence is golden when the Holy Spirit tells us to keep our mouths shut.

“When the Sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, bought spices, so that they might go and anoint Him. Very early in the morning, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb at the rising of the sun. They said among themselves, “Who will roll the stone away from the door of the tomb for us?”” Mark 16:1-3 MEV

Sometimes, like right now with the three women, all that God said seems either not valid or misunderstood by us, but we’ve got to hang on to our faith. Ebenezer!  Has God said it, then it WILL come to fruition, it will happen. Amen.

“He said to them, “Do not be frightened. You are looking for Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen. He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.” Mark 16:6 MEV

Do not be frightened are not entertaining words. Don’t let the presence of God, though it is awesomely frightening, scare us.

“He said to them, “Go into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved. But he who does not believe will be condemned. These signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; if they drink any deadly thing, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”” Mark 16:15-18 MEV

Go! Fulfil the great commission.
