Day 5

“Great crowds assembled around Him, so that He went into a boat and sat there. And the whole assembly stood on the shore.” Matthew 13:2 MEV

The whole assembly vs children

Scared of God vs loved by God/feel the love of God emanating from Jesus

Children and the disciples came to the person of Jesus.

“Whoever has ears to hear, let him hear.”” Matthew 13:9 MEV

The choice is yours

“In them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah which says: ‘By hearing, you will hear and shall not understand, and seeing, you will see and shall not perceive; for this people’s heart has grown dull. Their ears have become hard of hearing, and they have closed their eyes, lest they should see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their hearts, and turn, and I should heal them.’” Matthew 13:14-15 MEV

A dull heart vs those who are hungry

““He said to them, ‘An enemy did this.’ “The servants said to him, ‘Will you then have us go and gather them up?’ “But he said, ‘No, lest while you gather up the weeds, you pull up also the wheat with them.” Matthew13:28-29 MEV

“Weeds” and sin are part of the fallen man’s reality. We continue to preach in season and out of season.

“to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying: “I will open My mouth in parables; I will say things which have been kept secret since the foundation of the world.”” Matthew 13:35 MEV

To fulfil what the prophets have said. Jesus’ baptism was to fulfil all righteousness.

“But when Herod’s birthday was celebrated, the daughter of Herodias danced before them and pleased Herod.” Matthew 14:6 MEV

The flesh and the Spirit are at war in a human.

“Jesus went ashore and saw a great assembly. And He was moved with compassion toward them, and He healed their sick.” Matthew 14:14 MEV

Compassion moved Jesus.

“‘These people draw near to Me with their mouth, and honor Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. In vain they do worship Me, teaching as doctrines the precepts of men.’”” Matthew 15:8-9 MEV

Let us not be hypocrites.

These are just that which occurred to me while reading. I’ve taught on several topics which today’s passages (and yesterday’s and the day before yesterday’s, for that matter). These teachings are online. Ask me, if needed.
