1 Samuel 7:12 (NKJV)   “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”

Nations reunited

The Separation

Nations

In Jewish tradition there were 70 original nations after the Flood, corresponding to 70 names in Genesis 46:26-27 All the persons of the house of Jacob who went to Egypt were seventy.

Genesis 10:1 (NKJV)  Now this is the genealogy of the sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And sons were born to them after the flood.

  • 72 in some versions because the different counting.

Deuteronomy says:

  • Deuteronomy 32:8-9 (NKJV) He set the boundaries of the peoples According to the number of the children of Israel.; Jacob is the place of His inheritance.
  • Deuteronomy 32:8-9 (NLT2) heavenly court.
  • Deuteronomy 32:8–9 (English Standard Version) sons of God.
  • Israel was meant to be a kingdom of priests
    • Exodus 24:1 (NKJV) Now He said to Moses, “Come up to the LORD, you and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel, and worship from afar.
  • Israel’s Messiah will eventually rule over all the nations of the world from Jerusalem during the coming Millennial kingdom.
    • Psalm 2:8 (NKJV) Ask of Me, and I will give You The nations for Your inheritance, And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
    • Isaiah 60:12 (NKJV) For the nation and kingdom which will not serve you shall perish, And those nations shall be utterly ruined.
  • God gave authority over nations to watchers.
  • These Sons of God then usurped God’s position and became “gods” over nations demanding worship.
  • Not Chronological strictly because timelines and resolutions vary but in general
  • The choosing of Abraham

Genesis 12:1-4 (NKJV) 1  Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. 2  I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. 3  I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” 4  So Abram departed as the LORD had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran.

Tongues

Genesis 11:7 (NKJV)  Come, let Us go down and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech.”

The Unification in the body of Christ the Messiah

What God separated, He reunited in Christ Jesus.

Tongues

Acts 2:7-8 (NKJV) 7  Then they were all amazed and marveled, saying to one another, “Look, are not all these who speak Galileans? 8  And how is it that we hear, each in our own language in which we were born?

At Pentecost

Nations

Luke 10:17-18 (NKJV) 17  Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.” 18  And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.

Territorial and geographic

2 Kings 5:17 (NKJV)  So Naaman said, “Then, if not, please let your servant be given two mule-loads of earth; for your servant will no longer offer either burnt offering or sacrifice to other gods, but to the LORD.

1 Samuel 5:2-5 (NKJV) 2  When the Philistines took the ark of God, they brought it into the house of Dagon and set it by Dagon. 3  And when the people of Ashdod arose early in the morning, there was Dagon, fallen on its face to the earth before the ark of the LORD. So they took Dagon and set it in its place again. 4  And when they arose early the next morning, there was Dagon, fallen on its face to the ground before the ark of the LORD. The head of Dagon and both the palms of its hands were broken off on the threshold; only Dagon’s torso was left of it. 5  Therefore neither the priests of Dagon nor any who come into Dagon’s house tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod to this day.

  • Luke 4:33-35 (NKJV) 33 Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice, 34  saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth?
  • Matthew 8:28-29 (NKJV) 28 When He had come to the other side, to the country of the Gergesenes, there met Him two demon-possessed men, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way. 29  And suddenly they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with You, Jesus.

The Nature of Satan the adversary

  • No one of the inspired my search for the true God.
  • Dead Christianity/religion with no power, hope, love.
  • Not miracles alone, but faith in Christ Jesus.
  • Taught as the Lord guided me, Original source.
    • Did not copy but sometimes felt they copied me.
    • More educated but equally Biblically well versed.
  • All originality stops at the source – The Holy Bible.
  • Djinn in Islam, existence of the spiritual

Ephesians 3:14-16 (NKJV) whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

No personal Satan in the OT

Only as the adversary.

  • Genesis 3:1 (NKJV) Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made
  • Job 1:6 (NKJV) Now there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and (the) Satan also came among them.

Satan depicted as a person in the NT

  • Revelation 12:9 (NKJV) So the great dragon was cast out, that serpent of old, called the Devil and Satan, who deceives the whole world; he was cast to the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
  • 1 Peter 5:8-9 (NKJV) 8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Though Satan is personified, we have many adversaries even in the NT

Ephesians 6:10-20 (NKJV)   against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

  • Sons of God.
  • Moring Stars.
  • (Roaring) Lion and the cobra etc.

Job 38:7 (NKJV)  When the morning stars sang together, And all the sons of God shouted for joy?

Psalm 91:13 (NKJV)  You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

Deeper than we are generally taught.

Matthew 4:1-11 (NKJV) 1  Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2  And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry. 3  Now when the tempter came to Him,  5  Then the devil took Him up into the holy city, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple,

  • Leviticus 16:8 (NKJV) Then Aaron shall cast lots for the two goats: one lot for the LORD and the other lot for the scapegoat.
  • Leviticus 16:8 (NLT2) sins of the people to the wilderness of Azazel.
  • Azazel is wilderness, or the Lord of it.

Our victory.

Follow the Lord and obey His commandments.

In the OT and the NT.

  • Joshua 1:3 (NKJV) Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you, as I said to Moses. Deuteronomy 11:22-25 (NKJV) 24  Every place on which the sole of your foot treads shall be yours:

Demons

  • Mark 16:15-18 (NKJV) 17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;

Authority

  • Matthew 28:18 (NKJV) And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.

The Original Sin

  • Romans 6:22 (NASB) But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.

DNA

  • 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Nations, tongues.

Wicked human heart

The law showed us what Holiness is but could not make us holy, what God’s standards are.

Grace empowers us to be Holy. NT

Covenant with Christ Jesus, to follow and obey.

  • Romans 8:1 (NKJV) There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

The battle still rages on

Romans 8:6-9 (NKJV) 6  For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7  Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8  So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. 9  But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

Cross = death, resurrection = life

Life is not found on the Cross. It is found because of the Cross.

Romans 8:11 (NKJV)  But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

It is His resurrection power that gives life to the believer.

Suppose I had been forgiven a financial debt, though my debts are forgiven, I still am not in the black.

I have nothing unless the one who forgave my debt gives me money to call my own, and that’s what Christ did.

His blood wiped out my debt of sin.

But it was His resurrection that brought me into the black.

1 Corinthians 15:51-58 (NKJV) “Death is swallowed up in victory.” 55  “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” 56  The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. 57  But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. 58  Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

Therefore,

  1. my beloved brethren, – Believers.
  2. be steadfast, – in faith.
  3. immovable, – no matter what.
  4. always abounding in the work of the Lord,
  5. knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
