So he sent his brothers away, and they departed; and he said to them, “See that you do not become troubled along the way.”
Sometimes I tell folks not to fight among themselves on the journey. Most of the time, people take it as a joke. While that is a lighter side, there is a serious side to what I meant.
In Proverbs 13:10, we learn that “By pride comes nothing but strife, But with the well-advised is wisdom,” and in James 4:1-3 we read about what gives rise to wars “Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? [2] You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. [3] You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.”
Let there be no disunity among us. That only Christians shoot our wounded has almost become a cliche., do not let it be so in your life. We serve a God who restores and heals.
