In the New Covenant we have with Jesus the Messiah, God is in us, not in a place on Earth, for us even to make a pilgrimage to. As He says through the prophet Amos, seek Him and live, not where He has been or was. He is Immanuel, God with us.
When the Apostle Paul wrote to the Church in Phillipi which was in turmoil, he encouraged them to rejoice in the Lord always because theLord is at hand. He was in prison, persecuted for the Gospel, when he wrote this.
