Genesis 25

Genesis 25:21 NKJV

Now Isaac pleaded with the LORD for his wife, because she was barren; and the LORD granted his plea, and Rebekah his wife conceived.

Though there are challenges to the fulfilment of God’s promises, we can rest assured that it will come to pass. In Isaiah 55:11 we read the following “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” In Matthew 9, Jesus asks “Do you believe that I’m able to do this?”

Rebekah’s barrenness seems to nullify God’s promise to Abraham, the father of our Faith, but it was not a problem for the Lord who is the author of our Faith. All  Abraham had to do was hand over this problem to the Lord, to cry out to Him, give Him authority over it.

Psalm 56:9 When I cry out to You, Then my enemies will turn back; This I know, because God is for me.
