Day 75-76

Day 75

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has given us a new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 1 Peter 1:3 MEV

We are the Church of the Living Hope; Jesus Christ.

Therefore guard your minds, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ. As obedient children do not conduct yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance. But as He who has called you is holy, so be holy in all your conduct, because it is written, “Be holy, for I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:13-16 MEV

The pivotal thought in this passage is holiness.

you also, as living stones, are being built up into a spiritual house as a holy priesthood to offer up spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.1 Peter 2:5 MEV

Spitual sacrifices. That means the things we put away for spiritual gain in Christ. Sometimes they are painful to put away, but forsake the things of the flesh we must.

He Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness. “By His wounds you were healed.” 1 Peter 2:24 MEV

Amen

Figuratively this is like baptism, which also saves us now. It is not washing off the dirt from the body, but a response to God from a good conscience through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 1 Peter 3:21 MEV

This verse makes it clear that while baptism is a must because it is a response to God from a good conscience through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, baptism alone does not save.

Day 76

so that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh serving human desires, but the will of God. 1 Peter 4:2 MEV

This verse strengthens my resolve to do the will of God.

I exhort the elders who are among you, as one who is also an elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ as well as a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed: Shepherd the flock of God that is among you, take care of them, not by constraint, but willingly, not for dishonest gain, but eagerly. Do not Lord over those in your charge, but be examples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of glory that will not fade away. 1 Peter 5:1-4 MEV

Crown of glory.

Humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time. 1 Peter 5:6 MEV

It says to humble ourselves not ask God to humble you, nor ask for humiliation.

Cast all your care upon Him, because He cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7 MEV

Psalm 55:22 NKJV Cast your burden on the LORD, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.

Resist him firmly in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. 1 Peter 5:9 MEV

Resist the devil firmly by your faith in Jesus Christ. Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
