  • The Redemption

Psalm 40:7-9 (NKJV) 7  Then I said, “Behold, I come; In the scroll of the book it is written of me. 8  I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart.” 9  I have proclaimed the good news of righteousness In the great assembly; Indeed, I do not restrain my lips, O LORD, You Yourself know.

John 5:39-40 (NKJV) 39  You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. 40  But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.

Scriptures be fulfilled

Matthew 26:52-56 (NKJV) 52  But Jesus said to him, “Put your sword in its place, for all who take the sword will perish by the sword. 53  Or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will provide Me with more than twelve legions of angels? 54  How then could the Scriptures be fulfilled, that it must happen thus?” 55  In that hour Jesus said to the multitudes, “Have you come out, as against a robber, with swords and clubs to take Me? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple, and you did not seize Me. 56  But all this was done that the Scriptures of the prophets might be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples forsook Him and fled.

  • Your Will
  • The Scriptures

Mark 12:24 (NKJV)  Jesus answered and said to them, “Are you not therefore mistaken, because you do not know the Scriptures nor the power of God?

Isaiah 46:10 (NKJV)  Declaring the end from the beginning, And from ancient times things that are not yet done, Saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, And I will do all My pleasure,’

  • Power of God
  • 2 Chronicles 16:12 (NKJV) And in the thirty-ninth year of his reign, Asa became diseased in his feet, and his malady was severe; yet in his disease he did not seek the LORD, but the physicians.
  • Isaiah 53:1 (NKJV) Who has believed our report? And to whom has the arm of the LORD been revealed?
  • Promises of God

2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV)  For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

Isaiah 55:11 (NKJV)  So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

  • Sent it
  • Send forth his word

Psalm 107:20 (NKJV)  He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

John 1:1-5 (NKJV) 1  In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2  He was in the beginning with God. 3  All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5  And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

John 1:14 (NKJV)  And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

1 Peter 1:23 (NKJV)  having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever,

  • Darkness and destruction
  • Saved

John 3:16-21 (NKJV) 16  For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18  He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19  And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20  For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21  But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”

  • Not condemn but to convict

John 16:7-8 (NKJV) 7  Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you. 8  And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

Titus 1:9 (NKJV)  holding fast the faithful word as he has been taught, that he may be able, by sound doctrine, both to exhort and convict those who contradict.

  • The Holy Spirit – Wisdom

Jude 1:14-19 (NKJV) 14  Now Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these men also, saying, “Behold, the Lord comes with ten thousands of His saints, 15  to execute judgment on all, to convict all who are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have committed in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” 16  These are grumblers, complainers, walking according to their own lusts; and they mouth great swelling words, flattering people to gain advantage. 17  But you, beloved, remember the words which were spoken before by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ: 18  how they told you that there would be mockers in the last time who would walk according to their own ungodly lusts. 19  These are sensual persons, who cause divisions, not having the Spirit.

  • Study the Word

Psalm 119:11 (NKJV)  Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!

Psalm 119:105 (NKJV)  Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path.

2 Timothy 2:15 (NKJV)  Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Word of truth

Luke 24:44-45 (NKJV) 44  Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me.” 45  And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures.

Acts 8:34-35 (NKJV) 34  So the eunuch answered Philip and said, “I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this, of himself or of some other man?” 35  Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him.

  • Be fair minded

Acts 17:11 (NKJV)  These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.

Revelation 22:18-19 (NKJV) 18  For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; 19  and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

  • All Scripture

2 Timothy 3:16 (NKJV)  All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,

1 Peter 3:10 (NLT2)  For the Scriptures say, “If you want to enjoy life and see many happy days, keep your tongue from speaking evil and your lips from telling lies.

The Blood of Jesus

Ephesians 4:11-16 (NKJV) 11  And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12  for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, 13  till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ; 14  that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting, 15  but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head–Christ– 16  from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.

  • Transformation because of circumstances
  • Not according to his father’s vision or plan
  • Life made him an offer that he had no chance to refuse

God is not like that.

Jeremiah 29:11-14 (NKJV) 11  For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. 12  Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13  And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. 14  I will be found by you, says the LORD, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the LORD, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.

  1. The plan – of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope
  2. Then you will call upon Me
  3. pray to Me, and
  4. I will listen to you
  5. And you will seek Me and find Me,
  6. when you search for Me with all your heart.
  7. I will be found by you
  8. I will bring you back from your captivity
  9. I will gather you from where I have driven you, says the LORD
  10. I will bring you home again to your own land.”

Exile – 70 years because of not honoring Shabbat

Daniel referred to Jeremiah’s prediction, Dn 9:2).

The prophecy was given before the event.

So Scripture says that Jeremiah wrote it,

Daniel read about it, and then it happened according to God’s vision and plan.

Numbers 23:19 (NKJV)  “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?

What God has promised

2 Corinthians 1:20 (NKJV)  For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

  1. Redeem
  2. The Holy Spirit

Acts 5:32 (NKJV)  And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.”

  • Holy Spirit infilling
    1. Before
    2. Now
    3. after
  • Saved through grace by faith
  • Grace – Holy Spirit
  • Faith in Jesus Christ – the Word that became flesh

Ephesians 2:8 (NKJV)  For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,

Ephesians 4:30 (NKJV)  And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.

  1. We’re all encouraged by someone who stirs us to move ahead,
  2. someone who believes we can do the task he has given and
  3. who will be with us all the way.
  4. God is that kind of leader.
  5. He knows the future, and
  6. his plans for us are good and full of hope.
  7. As long as God, who knows the future,
  8. provides our agenda and goes with us as we fulfill his mission, we can have boundless hope.
  9. This does not mean that we will be spared pain, suffering, or hardship, but that God will see us through to a glorious conclusion.
  10. We are redeemed by the blood of Jesus the Christ. We will overcome.

The rules and conditions set by God

Genesis 9:4 (NKJV)  But you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.

Leviticus 17:10-14 (NKJV) 10  ‘And whatever man of the house of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who eats any blood, I will set My face against that person who eats blood, and will cut him off from among his people. 11  For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’ 12  Therefore I said to the children of Israel, ‘No one among you shall eat blood, nor shall any stranger who dwells among you eat blood.’ 13  Whatever man of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who hunts and catches any animal or bird that may be eaten, he shall pour out its blood and cover it with dust; 14  for it is the life of all flesh. Its blood sustains its life. Therefore I said to the children of Israel, ‘You shall not eat the blood of any flesh, for the life of all flesh is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.’

  • Fulfilled by the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ
  1. Matthew 26:28 (NKJV) For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
  2. John 6:53 (NKJV) Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.
  3. 1 Corinthians 11:25 (NKJV) In the same manner He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood. This do, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.”
  4. Colossians 1:14 (NKJV) in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
  5. 1 John 1:7 (NKJV) But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.
