Day 30

So she came running to Simon Peter and to the other disciple whom Jesus loved, and said to them, “They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we do not know where they have put Him.” John 20:2 MEV

They still thought carnally and did not belive that Jesus is God.

For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise from the dead. John 20:9 MEV

This is a stumbling point even for those who beleive. To some, it is impossible, to others, it is meaningless in their daily living, and yet others are futile in that they chase death. It is wise to understand Psalm 78

They said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Lord, and I do not know where they have put Him.” When she had said this, she turned around and saw Jesus standing, but she did not know that it was Jesus. John 20:13-14 MEV

Jeremiah 29:13-14 NLT If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. [14] I will be found by you,” says the LORD. “I will end your captivity and restore your fortunes. I will gather you out of the nations where I sent you and will bring you home again to your own land.”

Jesus said to her, “Stop holding on to Me, for I have not yet ascended to My Father. But go to My brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to My Father and your Father, to My God and your God.’ ” John 20:17 MEV

For the price to pay, for our redemption.

So Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As My Father has sent Me, even so I send you.” John 20:21 MEV

I’m thinking that Jesus had to say it twice because they were in shock. While ot is humorous to consider this, i don’t believe that to be a reason. There is a principle to be learned, which can be easily understood by studying what Jesus said.

Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen, and have yet believed.” John 20:29 MEV

We walk by faith…

Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.” Then they said to him, “We will go with you.” They went out and immediately entered the boat. But that night they caught nothing. John 21:3 MEV

The disciples did what was best/right in their eyes in this situation where everything they’ve believed in seemed a lie, but that did not deter Jesus from revealing Himself to them. Have truth in your inward being. In our unfaithfulness, He remains faithful.  He is our faithful friend. His name is Jesus.

When the morning came, Jesus stood on the shore. But the disciples did not know that it was Jesus. Jesus said to them, “Children, do you have any fish?” They answered Him, “No.” He said to them, “Throw the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some.” So they threw it, and now they were not able to draw it in because of the abundance of fish. John 21:4-6 MEV

What do we learn from this? What are the signs He is with us when all seems lost? Repetition of His previous miracles, miraculous providence, His lovingkindness and tender mercies.

Jesus came and took the bread and gave it to them, and likewise the fish. John 21:13 MEV

Breakfast with Jesus that involved broiling and barbecue! Then He made us check our hearts, sharpen our Axe.
