The Elohim Class Review
- Two families
Ephesians 3:14-19 NKJV For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, [15] from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, [16] that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, [17] that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, [18] may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height- [19] to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.
- Not unaware – not “hocus pocus”
2 Corinthians 2:11 NIV in order that Satan might not outwit us. For we are not unaware of his schemes.
- Job partially unaware

Acts 19:13-14 NKJV Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.” [14] Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so.
- Our Struggle
Ephesians 6:12 NASB For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
- Devil walks about like a prowling lion seeking whom he may devour.
- So be sober, be vigilant

Power of Music dedicated to God
- The songs that King David wrote and played worked because:
- David was anointed
- David lived in covenant faithfulness
- The music expressed trust and worship
- The presence of God overflowed in his cup
- God’s presence displaced the hostile spirit
1 Samuel 16:14,23 NLT Now the Spirit of the LORD had left Saul, and the LORD sent a tormenting spirit that filled him with depression and fear.
[23] And whenever the tormenting spirit from God troubled Saul, David would play the harp. Then Saul would feel better, and the tormenting spirit would go away.- Elisha
2 Kings 3:15 NKJV But now bring me a musician.” Then it happened, when the musician played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him.
- Josephus claims: Solomon composed exorcistic formulas
- The Bible says Solomon had: Exceptional wisdom (1 Kings 4:29–34)
1 Kings 4:29,32 NLT God gave Solomon very great wisdom and understanding, and knowledge as vast as the sands of the seashore. [32] He composed some 3,000 proverbs and wrote 1,005 songs.
- Modern worship produces similar effects only when it functions as worship, not as stimulus.
- Worship does not summon God.
- Worship welcomes God.
- When that happens, disorder retreats.
- Psalms were used for worship in the Biblical Times
- External enemies both natural and spiritual
- Internal fear
- False accusation
- Spiritual oppression
- Threats by day and night

- They do not teach spellcasting.
- They teach dwelling, trusting, and yielding authority to God.
- From fear → to trust → to divine defense → to total protection
Focus on Psalm 91
Psalm 91 does not explicitly name “gods”, but it uses personified forces that are ancient Near Eastern demonic or semi-divine beings that Israel’s God is shown to dominate.
- These figures appear elsewhere in the Hebrew Bible as personifications of plague, death, chaos, and destruction, sometimes with clear links to known Canaanite deities or demons.
- Hindu Gods as an example.
- The Ugaritic texts make us aware of who these demonic beings are
- They are ancient writings discovered in Ugarit (modern Syria) dating to about 1400–1200 BCE that include myths, and rituals etc.
- Psalm 91 deliberately reuses that worldview but reverses its theology and declares Yahweh’s absolute supremacy.
Psalm 91 assumes the audience already knows these beings.
- Plague (Resheph/Deber): Ugaritic plague god → Psalm 91’s “pestilence that stalks” rendered powerless
- Arrows/fire: Resheph’s weapons → Psalm 91’s “arrow that flies by day” neutralized
- Noonday destruction (Qeteb): Timed destructive spirit → Psalm 91 denies its reach
- Night terror: Realm of demons and fear spirits → Psalm 91 removes fear without incantation
- Chaos beasts: Lotan/serpent/dragon → Psalm 91 shows them trampled, not fought
Psalm 91 assumes these beings but declares Yahweh’s absolute supremacy
- Psalm 91 declares they cannot harm one who dwells with Yahweh
- Yahweh as protector against the entire unseen hostile realm.
So therefore trust Him, rest in Him
John 14:1 NKJV “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me.
1 Peter 5:6-7 NKJV Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, [7] casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
