Ephesians-Our Battle Manual 4

Forty D’s from Ephesians

Romans 8:9 (NKJV) But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His.

1 John 5:6 (NKJV) This is He who came by water and blood–Jesus Christ; not only by water, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.

  • Valve before the soul

Do not give place to the devil.

Creative Words

  1. Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth.
  • Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
  • Matthew 12:34 Brood of vipers! How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
  • James 3:2–13 2 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Indeed, we put bits in horses’ mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. 4Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things.

See how great a forest a little fire kindles! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. 8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. 11 Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh. 13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.

  • Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.
  • Isaiah 45:11 Thus says the LORD, The Holy One of Israel, and his Maker: “Ask Me of things to come concerning My sons; And concerning the work of My hands, you command Me.
  • 1 Corinthians 2:16 For “who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ.
  • Mind of the Lord=Conformed to the image of His Son, put away lying, deceit, duplicity.
  • Don’t pretend, be real. Have truth in the inward being.
  • Insecurity, root is fear. Perfect love casts out fear
  • Heart>Mouth>Authority in Christ-

Represent Jesus

In 1 Corinthians 2:16 we read “who has known the mind of the LORD”

  • Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
  • Conformed = suschematizo (soos-khay-mat- id -zoe)
  • Refers to conforming oneself to the outer fashion or outward appearance, accommodating oneself to a model or pattern.
  • Suschematizo occurs elsewhere in the New Testament only in 1 Peter 1:14
  • 1 Peter 1:14 as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts, as in your ignorance;
  • It describes those conforming themselves to worldly lusts.

Even apparent or superficial conformity to the present world system or any accommodation to its ways would be fatal to the Christian life.

  1. Build up with words that are good for necessary edification, imparting grace to the hearers.
  • Ephesians 4:29 Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
  • Impart grace
  • Hebrews 10:24–25 And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, 25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
  • 1 Thessalonians 5:11 Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing.
  • John 14:26 (Amplified Bible) But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor—Counselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.
  • Represent Jesus

The Holy Spirit will teach you all things, that which represents Jesus.

  • John 16:14 He will glorify Me, for He will take of what is Mine and declare it to you.
  • Ezekiel 36:27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
  • Luke 12:12 For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.”
  • 1 John 2:27 But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.

Declare: the choice is yours
